1964 MK1 Mini Cooper S
Brightwell purchased this 1964 1071cc Mini Cooper S in North Wales after its long-time owner passed away. It was quickly snapped up by our customer who was initially tempted to commission a limited edition CCC75 Cooper S but decided he wanted to put his own stamp on the car. Brightwell carried out a nut and bolt restoration. We restored the 1071cc engine to standard specification and fitted servo-assisted grooved front disc brakes with four-pot callipers and alloy-finned rear drums. The suspension comprises Evolution rubber cones with height-adjustable hi-lo suspension, adjustable Koni Classic shocks and fully adjustable caster and camber both front and rear.
Brightwell’s in-house trim shop created a beautiful bespoke interior in tan leather with houndstooth cloth centres and an Alcantara headlining and dash with leather upper and lower dash rails. It’s all topped off with a wood steering wheel and an amplified hidden bluetooth stereo. Now a Mini World magazine feature car and resident on the streets of London, where it is ULEZ exempt.
